Blog Post #10
I have not really started assignment #5 yet, so I am unsure about the skills I have learned so far. However, I assume I will be acquiring a new understanding of Powerpoint, and after completing the assignment, I will be able to navigate the software more efficiently. I am thinking about doing a history-themed Powerpoint since I did my last Powerpoint project on history, and I think I could easily incorporate a history-themed quiz. I like this assignment since it will force me to use a side of PowerPoint that I haven't explored before.
I like hearing about my fellow classmates teaching plans through their blogs, and how they will incorporate technology into their careers. I also found everyone's opinions on the digital divide topic very interesting since it seems that there is a general consensus that the concept is real. I like comparing my website design to my fellow classmates since I can see how we all used the CRAP principles in different ways. All of my fellow classmates' ideas have helped me understand my own ideas surrounding educational technology
I think a skill I would like to further is website design. So far, we have used basic website design software, but any professional webpage mainly uses a more complex, sophisticated format. I wonder if some of these skills could be acquired through a slightly more rigorous website design lesson. I also wonder if perhaps a base knowledge of coding could help teachers and students alike incorporate technology into their lives. Since so much of our lives are now defined by software and the internet, coding would be a really useful skill for anyone to have.
